Entries open for the 2024 GuestRevu GREAT Awards

Written by Sarah Came | 9 May, 2024

GuestRevu, a leading guest survey and online reputation management solution, is thrilled to announce entries are now open for the 2024 GuestRevu GREAT Awards. These prestigious awards, celebrating Guest-Rated Excellence in Accommodation & Travel, are back for another exciting year.

Once again, the Awards will be held in partnership with leading property management software, Hop, and Stenden Univerity resumes the role of academic partner. HOSPA, The Hospitality Professionals Association, which is dedicated to supporting hospitality specialist leaders in networking and learning, is an exciting new partner for the 2024 GREAT Awards.

Following the resounding success of last year's event, which saw hotels from around the globe recognised for their exceptional guest experiences, the 2024 GREAT Awards promise to be even more spectacular. With entries open until June 30, 2024, hotels, resorts and guesthouses worldwide are invited to showcase their commitment to excellence and vie for the coveted GuestRevu GREATest Hotel titles in 2024.

Last year's ceremony, held at The Good Hotel London, was a testament to the outstanding achievements of the hospitality industry. From boutique retreats to luxury resorts, winners from diverse locations and backgrounds showcased their dedication to providing first-class guest service.

The 2023 event was a celebration of the passion and innovation driving the hospitality sector forward, and anticipation is already building for the 2024 Awards evening. "We are really excited to be part of the great awards again for 2024 and look forward to a fantastic evening in November," says Sharon Smith COO of Hop.

The GREAT Awards stand apart among hotel awards programmes as winners are determined by relying solely on guest feedback rather than conventional judging panels. With a mission to spotlight exceptional guest experiences regardless of hotel type or size, reviews shared on top review platforms like Google Reviews, Booking.com, and Tripadvisor are analysed to determine the winners. To ensure the data analysis is objective, fair, and transparent, the process will be overseen by Dr Wouter Hensens, the Executive Dean of Stenden South Africa.

During the 2023 GREAT Awards, representatives from GuestRevu and Stenden analysed over 60,000 online reviews of over 1000 hotels from more than 35 countries worldwide to identify the winners in each category, and early interest in the 2024 Awards programme indicates the data analysis this year will be even more intensive.

“We collect and analyse millions of reviews on behalf of our clients, so we usually know what to expect from reviews, but I was really impressed at the quality of the feedback that the entrants received last year,” says GuestRevu CEO and Founder, Chris Alexandre. The overall calibre of contestants in the awards was outstanding, with an average overall satisfaction score of 88% for hotels that qualified to compete, and scores in the high 90s for most shortlisted hotels.

“The GREAT Awards provide an invaluable opportunity for hotels to showcase their commitment to guest satisfaction while also getting valuable insights from guest reviews,” said Chris, “We are excited to partner with HOSPA and Stenden University for the 2024 Awards, and look forward to celebrating excellence in hospitality worldwide once again.”

“It’s a wonderful event,” said Robert Walshe, co-owner of Highcliffe House, who walked away with awards in four categories in 2023. “We have many mystery shoppers, judging panels and adjudicators involved in other awards, but this is a real, pure example of what guests think.”
