African Winners of the 2024 GuestRevu GREAT Awards Announced at the Grand Daddy Hotel

Tonight, we celebrated the African winners of the 2024 GuestRevu GREAT Awards in style at the Grand Daddy Hotel in Cape Town. The event, hosted with the support of sponsors Hotel Time, FEDHASA, and Stenden University South Africa, brought together some of the region’s most talented hoteliers and industry professionals for a night of recognition and celebration.

 

The GuestRevu GREAT Awards honour hotels that excel in providing unforgettable guest experiences, as evidenced by exceptional guest reviews. This year over 700 properties from 55 countries entered, and more than 70,000 reviews from platforms like Google (24.5% of the total), Tripadvisor (13.8%), and Booking.com (61.7%) were analysed using the free version of GuestRevu’s award-winning reputation management product, GuestRevu LITE, to determine the winners. The properties on the shortlists achieved incredible guest review scores, averaging over 90%, showing just how much effort they put into making every stay unforgettable.

 

 

Dr Wouter Hensens, Executive Dean at Stenden South Africa, oversaw the awards data analysis. His expertise helped ensure the process was fair and accurate, highlighting the region's best.

Adding to the evening’s highlights, David, Chris, Wouter, and Lee-Ann shared valuable insights on managing guest feedback and building lasting reputations in the hospitality industry. They shared practical advice on managing guest feedback and building strong reputations in hospitality. It was an inspiring discussion full of ideas and strategies for hoteliers to take back to their teams.

As the evening drew to a close, Chris expressed heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and nominees. “We’re so proud of all the winners,” he said. “Your hard work and dedication to making guests happy is what makes this industry so special. Congratulations to you all for raising the bar and setting new standards for guest experience.”

"So it was really easy for us to associate FEDHASA, which represents the hospitality industry in South Africa, with the GuestRevu GREAT Awards tonight."
